THE DIRECT ANSWER

On PC, select the Pokémon and press E to sell it. Check the displayed “Sell for” amount before confirming a sale through the interface. W moves a selected Pokémon between the bench and board; use a Magnet when you only want to remove its items.

Selling, benching and removing equipment solve different problems. Decide which result you want before using a shortcut, especially when you are trying to free a bench slot.

Use the sale control deliberately

  1. Select the Pokémon you intend to sell.
  2. Read its identity, star level and displayed sale value.
  3. On PC, E is the documented sell shortcut. On touch devices, use the selected unit’s visible sale control.
  4. Check your bench, board and gold afterward before buying its replacement.

Do not assume every sale shows another confirmation prompt. Read the value before pressing E. W is the bench/board shortcut, so use it if the goal is to reposition rather than remove a unit from your roster.

Check what the sale would break

Count the different Pokémon that currently activate a type bonus. Selling one can remove a synergy tier even if a second copy of another species remains. If you are holding matching copies for a merge, check that plan before freeing the slot.

With a full bench, an eligible purchase that immediately completes a merge can be allowed without selling first. The full-bench guide explains the exception and its combat restriction. Use it before sacrificing a useful copy just to make room.

If you only want the equipment back

Use a Magnet to remove all equipment without selling the Pokémon. During combat, equipment changes apply to benched units rather than units currently fighting. On mobile, press Save when using the item manager.

The sell shortcut is not an item-removal shortcut. If your current unit is already upgraded and doing its job, first check whether moving its equipment solves the problem.

What happens to available copies?

The developer’s Guide says owned Pokémon reduce the copies available in the shop pool, counting two-star units as three copies and three-star units as nine. Selling returns those copies to the pool.

This does not guarantee the next refresh will offer that Pokémon. Refreshing still changes the shop, and its cost is separate from the sale. For choosing whether to keep copies or buy XP, use the build decision guide.

Quick questions

Does W sell my Pokémon?

No. W moves the selected Pokémon between bench and board. E is the PC sell shortcut.

Must I sell a Pokémon to remove its items?

No. A Magnet removes its whole loadout without selling the Pokémon.

Does selling guarantee that the Pokémon returns in the next shop?

No. The Guide says the copies return to the pool, not that the next refresh must offer them.
